A Bit About The Role

As a DevOps Manager for the APAC and Australia regions, you will be responsible for leading and managing the DevOps team to ensure efficient and seamless delivery of managed software services. You will oversee the implementation and maintenance of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, infrastructure automation, and the deployment processes across the region. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and professional services, to enhance and optimize the software development lifecycle. Your role will also involve ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure and applications.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DevOps engineers across the APAC and Australia regions.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation within the team.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities.
  2. CI/CD Pipeline Management:
    • Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
    • Automate and streamline build, test, and deployment processes to enhance productivity and reduce time-to-market.
  3. Infrastructure Automation:
    • Oversee the automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent.
    • Ensure infrastructure is scalable, resilient, and aligned with best practices.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with development, operations, and professional services teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery of software.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  5. Monitoring and Incident Management:
    • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the availability and performance of applications and infrastructure.
    • Manage and respond to incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  6. Security and Compliance:
    • Ensure that security best practices are integrated into the DevOps processes and infrastructure.
    • Stay updated on industry standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
  7. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of DevOps practices.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in DevOps and cloud computing.
  8. Budget and Resource Management:
    • Manage the budget and resources for the DevOps team, ensuring optimal utilization and alignment with organizational goals.
    • Plan and allocate resources to meet project deadlines and business objectives.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a DevOps leadership role, preferably in a regional or global capacity.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD tools and practices, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Location:

  • This is a remote position based in Australia with occasional travel within the APAC and Australia regions.
