A Bit About The Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled technical writer to join our organization. In this position, you will plan, estimate, design, and develop complex technical information into easy-to-understand user content and product documentation to increase product clarity, performance, and usability for internal staff and external clients.

 

A strong knowledge base in the broadcast industry and ability to work cooperatively with other teams are helpful but not required. In lieu of broadcast experience, demonstrated ability to handle highly technical information related to software and hardware is acceptable. Experience implementing corporate and department standards, templates, methodologies, and processes. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Work with internal teams to understand product documentation requirements
  • Assess and translate information from design/development artifacts, previously released materials, and subject matter experts (SMEs) into customer-facing and internal materials
  • Define and estimate documentation project scopes, resources, timelines, and deliverables to create appropriate schedules that meet product release dates
  • Create planning and status documents as required
  • Develop, test, edit, update, and maintain deliverables for a variety of delivery media (including print and online help)
  • Implement Imagine Communications documentation and branding standards
  • Identify and provide resolution to project issues
  • Complete projects on time, within budget, and with high quality
  • Track lessons learned and implement appropriate changes
  • Analyze current content and make improvements as necessary
  • Expand knowledge of various Imagine Communications’ products and apply as appropriate

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical communications field
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical documentation development experience in the software and/or hardware industry
  • Excellent written and verbal skills; organizational, self-management, and multi-tasking skills; and collaboration skills
  • Able to gather and communicate technical information with strong attention to detail
  • Able to provide and receive feedback
  • Experience with a variety of development tools required. These include, but are not limited to, Author-It, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Visio, Jira, SharePoint, and Confluence
  • Familiarity with SAFe Agile Development processes is a plus
  • Experience with broadcast system operations (television, cable, and/or satellite) preferred, but not required
