    Specific duties include but are not limited to

    In the role of SysOps, you are responsible for the deployment, management, and operation of highly available, scalable, fault-tolerant systems on AWS & Azure. To utilize new and disruptive cloud technologies to solve complex business challenges and working in an ever-changing working environment that has only just commenced its journey to cloud

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Be a key player in the organization’s cloud adoption initiative, helping the business take advantage of scale, security and flexibility of the cloud.
    • Configuration, Administration, Installation & Updates/Upgrades of all cloud infrastructure, firewalls, databases, malware protection software, products, and services.
    • Participating in design and development meetings in order to ensure the infrastructure required for new projects is identified and put in place
    • Strong cloud solution design skills and “know-how” to design solutions with optimal end experience in mind
    • Be part of the team who owns end-to-end problems covering cloud environments in a structured, efficient manner within an Agile and ITIL guided environment.
    • Experience Composing Infrastructure Design & Technical Operations Documentation for both Project and Support Focused Work
    • You'll need to combine great communication skills with modern cloud technical expertise and superb problem-solving skills.
    • Liaison with architecture, engineering, operations and release teams across multiple offices, sharing best practice
    • Provisioning, maintenance, and monitoring of infrastructure assets on the cloud.
    • Ensure that there is adequate documentation for all Cloud architecture and processes and be technical support for both hardware and software issues our users encounter with cloud products
    • Proactively monitoring and implementing monitoring tools for the cloud environments troubleshooting issues as they arise and automating resolutions where possible
    • Identify and implement automation everywhere!
    • Perform training sessions inside and outside the team to share knowledge and skills across the business, ensuring knowledge transfer of any new Cloud product created by the Development team.
    • Posses server administration experience for Windows and Linux. Managing backup and recovery tasks
    • Supply on-call as per scheduled rotation

    Qualifications

    Essential Requirements:

     

    • Strong knowledge of AWS service technologies and cloud technology experience
    • Experience working in a client-facing environment
    • Experience / knowledge of Agile / DevOps / SysOps / ITIL methodology and values.
    • Proven Solutions design experience
    • Ability to interpret business requirements into technical designs
    • Efficiently communicate both verbally and in written form
    • Solid understanding of fundamental server administration and networking technologies
    • Further experience or knowledge of SysOps / DevOps automation technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Kubernetes, Cloudwatch, Elasticsearch etc.

     

    Additional Desirable Requirements:

    • AWS Solutions Architect Certification
    • AWS SysOps Administrator Certification
    • Azure and Google cloud experience
    • Exposure to tracking, automation and collaboration tools (Jira, Git, Ansible, Salt etc.) would be useful but training can be provided.
    • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash, Perl, Go, Ruby etc. advantageous.
    • Has worked on CI/CD solutions (Jenkins or equivalent)
    • ITIL Certified
