    Specific duties include but are not limited to

    This position will execute all tasks and activities typically associated with product management. To play a key role in the analysis, definition and delivery phases of the software development lifecycle by working with existing clients, new clients and the product management team (for Roadmap work) in analyzing and defining/documenting/prioritising specific system requirements to meet customer needs and seeing these through to delivery, working closely with the development teams. To be a ‘go-to’ person on the products’ current state and plans, becoming an excellent internal and external source of knowledge and data about the product and its roadmap.


    XG GAMEPLAN is a new media sales optimization product within the Imagine Communications Ad Tech group portfolio. The product has a vibrant roadmap and requires a dedicated product manager to take ownership of its progress.


    Key Responsibilities:

    The scope of work will include but is not limited to:

    • Product ownership role throughout the development and delivery lifecycle.
    • Requirements Management and Backlog Prioritization.
    • Management of, and contribution to, Functional Specification and User Story definition.
    • Team leadership of business/systems analysts involved in product
    • Tracking, management, and communication on product/development progress.
    • Presentation of (and collaboration around) requirements with Engineering staff, ahead of development and as changes emerge through the software development lifecycle.
    • Demonstration and Walkthroughs on emerging and completed software for internal and external audiences
    • Collaboration with Sales, Marketing and Product leadership teams on outward communications about the product and roadmap.
    • Client Visits requiring occasional travel.
    • Client Surveys (Current Systems/Process Analysis)
    • Identification of operational issues and working in conjunction with other Imagine groups (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Engineering), develop and implement plans to address them.
    • Evaluate and recommend investments to maximize the financial results of the product portfolio.
    • Develop an in-depth understanding of the competition, including market share estimates, differentiators and business strategy.
    • Perform the role of Product Evangelist internally and externally


    Essential Requirements:

    • Requirements management skills, knowledge and experience of using structured methodologies for requirements and functional analysis and User story definition
    • Good documentation and presentation skills
    • Ability to manage a small / mid-sized product team
    • Understanding of underlying software technologies and the impact they have on systems design
    • Awareness of procedures and standards for; conceptual product definition, relational database design, the creation of analysis specifications, program design specifications, the creation of test plans
    • Appreciation of good UI and UX, and its impact on product success
    • Ability to present product and roadmap information to internal and external clients
    • Ability to work in an organized manner and use common sense and problem-solving abilities when necessary
    • High degree of analytical expertise in software design and development
    • Self-motivation and initiative
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure
    • Ability to adapt to a new working environment and technologies
    • Good working knowledge of MS Office software products and common product management & agile tools including Confluence, Jira


    Desirable Experience

    • Previous product ownership/management experience
    • Skilled in use of Visio or other similar drawing tools
    • Knowledge of product roadmapping tools such as Aha!
