    Specific duties include but are not limited to

    Working with cutting edge broadcast technologies, the successful candidate will be working on FPGA/Hardware designs for Imagine Communications R&D.

    Responsible for all phases of a project lifecycle, including research, specifications, design, implementation, integration, overall technical project management, testing, documentation, and support. 

     

    • Research and Specification
      • Research relevant technologies and prepare specifications based on product requirements
    • Design, Implementation, Integration, and Testing
      • Overall FPGA architecture, design, simulation and implementation
      • High level design, hardware/firmware partitioning
      • Development of test firmware for hardware verification
      • Prototype debug and design revision
      • Integration with firmware
      • Overall product and system integration testing
    • Technical Project leadership and management
      • Determine resource requirements
      • Interface with other departments, including Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service
      • Drive project to completion through all major milestones
      • Provide supervision, mentoring and technical resourcing to junior and allied staff
    • Documentation
      • Provide full documentation of design and implementation
      • Assist Documentation department in preparation of User’s Manual
    • Support
      • Interact with Customer Service providing technical product support

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
    • 3+ years of FPGA design experience with the latest Xilinx and Altera using VHDL
    • Experience with FPGA development tools (Aldec/ModelSim, Vivado, Quartus)
    • Knowledge of broadcast industry applications and standards is an asset
    • Knowledge of Network Protocols is an asset
    • Experience with embedded and application programming is an asset
    • Well developed communication and leadership skills
