Specific duties include but are not limited to

Imagine Communications is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join the Product Development team in Toronto. As the successful candidate you will work with the Architecture, Development, and Validation teams to architect, design, and maintain R&D infrastructure to support the design, implementation, and validation of Imagine’s solutions (and the infrastructure required to support these activities) as well as work directly with customer service teams in a support capacity when required. As a member of an agile quality delivery team, the primary focus of this role is to bring automation and tooling leadership and insights during the product delivery cycle:

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall strategy, design, implementation of an infrastructure required to support the development and validation of Imagine’s products;
  • Work on a hybrid cloud environment (public and private cloud) and identify, configure, analyze, and design traffic flows and various controls and appliances as required;
  • Work with SMEs from development and validations teams (Architecture, DEV, and QA) as well as other technical teams on the design and implementation of solutions to support the reliable delivery of products and services as well as to meet the goals of the business;
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, mentoring and support to members of other technical teams as needed;
  • Create design, recommended practice and planning documentation for customer deployments;
  • Provide support and consulting for incidents as well as root cause analysis where required;
  • Participate in capacity planning and vendor management as well as provide pre-sales support (RFI/RFP, Client/vendor due diligence);
  • Participate in the management of maintenance contracts and managing infrastructure projects to budget;
  • Training Sales Engineers and other staff as needs emerge;
  • Product demonstration to customers as required;

Qualifications

Experience / Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical Degree;
  • Cisco Certification (i.e. CCNA, CCIE, CCDE) or equivalent
  • Strong experience with a configuration management scripting engine like Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or equivalent;
  • Strong experience in both Windows and Linux environments (including scripting, using languages such as Powershell, Ruby, batch files, etc or equivalent;
  • Experience with Continuous Integration servers like Jenkins, Bamboo, or equivalent;
  • Source control experience with GIT, Mercurial, CVS, or equivalent;
  • Solid working knowledge and troubleshooting experience with TCP/IP, IP, VLAN, UDP, DNS, DHCP, CIFS, NFS, SMB, IPsec, or other routing protocols (i.e. EIGRP, BGP, OSPF and HSRP)
  • Experience with various data routers/switches (Cisco, Arista, Brocades, HP, etc), firewalls, security protocols, and network management in medium to large corporate environments;
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Windows Workstation, and/or Linux Installation, configuration, hardening, and administration;
  • Strong troubleshooting skills of large computer networks in either an IT or television broadcast environment is an asset;
  • Experience in a Public/Private Cloud deployment (i.e. Azure, AWS, or GCP) is an asset;
  • Experience with Virtualization technologies (KVM, VMWare, EXSi, Hyper-V, OpenStack, or oVirt) is expected;
