Specific duties include but are not limited to

JOB PURPOSE:

To professionally execute all tasks and activities typically associated with the Analysis phases of the software development lifecycle by working with existing and new clients in analysing and defining specific system requirements to meet client’s needs. This includes documenting requirements and translating them into software design solutions and liaising with staff to ensure a quality product is delivered during all stages of the development process.

SCOPE:                                                                                                                                                                        

 

LANDMARK is a world leading media sales product within the AMS - Advertising Management Solutions group of Imagine Communications.

 

The scope of work will include but is not limited to:

 

  • Requirements Management
  • Functional Specification
  • Functional Testing Support
  • Client Support
  • Client Visits requiring occasional travel
  • Client Surveys (Current Systems/Process Analysis)
  • Client Workflow Documentation

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Gather, document and manage requirements from internal and external clients, using industry standard techniques and tools.
  • Define functionality to meet both client-requested and internally identified enhancements to the LANDMARK product
  • Assist developers, QA personnel and other stakeholders in understanding requirements and proposed functionality.
  • Contribute to software Quality Assurance by conducting pre and post QA functional testing, and by way of review of test coverage and scripts.
  • Act as escalation point for product support staff in resolving client-reported defects or fielding enquiries from clients.
  • Conduct business surveys to establish the suitability or otherwise of LANDMARK with a potential or new client's business processes and to identify any developments needed in order to fill gaps. This may involve international travel to client locations.
  • Document As-is and To-be workflows in relation to established, new or prospective clients' business processes and use of the LANDMARK product.
  • Demonstrate functionality to established, new or prospective clients.
  • Support Account Managers in developing and fostering client relationships.
  • Analyse and define specific system requirements to meet client requirements
  • Ensure design work and analysis is of a high standard and produced within agreed timescales
  • Communicate any revisions to the software design during the development cycle to the client, and agree changes are acceptable
  • Confirm developed software meets agreed requirements
  • Analysis of existing business practises and relating them back to Imagine’s products and services
  • Such other duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require
  • To ensure that all working practices comply with Health and Safety legislation

Qualifications

PERSON PROFILE

 

Currently employed as a business/systems analyst in a similar product environment and with business analysis experience. Previous broadcast experience would be an advantage, as would experience working in a consultancy firm or software house.

 

EXPERIENCE / ACHIEVEMENTS

 

Essential

  • Previous business/systems analyst experience
  • Demonstrable experience of working with structured analysis methodologies e.g. RUP, SSADM
  • Experience of working in medium to large project teams
  • Experience of owning and successfully delivering project deliverables

 

Desirable

 

  • Working knowledge of Broadcast (TV) business operations or support systems.

 

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

 

Essential

  • Knowledge and experience of using structured methodologies for requirements and functional analysis
  • Good documentation skills
  • User Interface design
  • Understanding of underlying software technologies and the impact they have on systems design
  • Awareness of procedures and standards for; conceptual product definition, relational database design, creation of analysis specifications, program design specifications, creation of test plans
  • Ability to present proposals to internal and external clients
  • Ability to work in an organised manner and use common sense and problem solving abilities when necessary
  • High degree of analytical expertise in software design and development
  • Self motivation and initiative
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to adapt to new working environment and technologies
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office software products, Skilled in use of Visio or other similar drawing tools
  • Ability to promote quality at all stage of software development

 

 

Desirable

 

  • Previous software testing experience
  • Previous programming experience or appreciation of a programming language and/or database technologies

 

 

EDUCATION / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS

 

 

  • Educated to degree level - preferably a computer science related degree.
