Specific duties include but are not limited to

Being part of a dynamic AGILE development team, the back-end developer will have extensive experience with Microsoft tools for back end server side development as well as its database.

 

Working on building and incrementally refactoring a next generation BMS (Broadcast management System) application for a variety of our products and customers which comply with written and verbally agreed specifications, to agreed time-scales and to agreed quality criteria.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Develop the server side code of the new application.
  • Use C# to write complex API’s and services
  • Design, code, test, and document software to a high level of quality.
  • Write automated test suites that can detect breaking changes in the code as soon as possible

Qualifications

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

Essential

 

  • Excellent communication skills (you will be able to express technical concepts clearly and be eager to contribute to highly-energised discussions
  • The ability to articulate, listen, persuade and concede
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial and self-motivated outlook
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong Back-End C# software development experience
  • OO Design and development experience
  • Good Server-Side development experience in C#
  • Good web services development experience e.g. API's
  • Some experience of WCF
  • Good experience with SQL Server and Stored Procedures
  • Experience of complex SQL features e.g. common table expressions, cross apply, table variables vs temp tables
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and related SaaS technologies
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment
  • Understanding of Release Management methodology

 

EDUCATION / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Competent senior/lead development experience in an object-orientated environment OR possess level > 6 course (2:1 or higher) in Computer Science (or related technical field)
  • Good commercial experience
  • Experience working with advertising/creative agencies and/or software development houses, sales teams, and multi-disciplinary teams a major plus
